Workshops
SET Up for Success is a dynamic workshop series designed to help advance the careers of women in the ICT industry.
The one-day program was first presented in June 2007, providing women with the skills to navigate a successful ICT career, succeed in a male-dominated working environment and maintain work/life balance.
Some of the key skills that participants take away include:
Negotiate and manage their careers in a male-dominated industry;
Balance the demands of work and family life;
Set goals and have a plan in place to achieve them;
Take charge of their lives, rather than reacting to employers' demands;
Understand and articulate their value to an organisation, the workforce and their industry;
Start a dialogue on the issues important to them with managers;
Achieve the work environment they need to be successful; and
Gain access to business mentoring and networking opportunities to help progress their careers.
Further workshops will be held in 2008 - information will be posted closer to the launch date.
