Career support

Supporting women at all stages of their ICT careers - and their lives - is vitally important if Australia's ICT industry is to continue to grow and develop. Together, Australia's ICT industry is taking the lead to help support the careers of talented women.

AIIA's special interest group, Females in Information Technology and Telecommunications (FITT) encourages and supports women in the ICT industry. FITT holds events and activities throughout the year to support, encourage and inspire women in the Australian ICT industry including:
      Networking - Breakfast, lunch or evening events in Sydney with stimulating speakers and opportunities to keep up to date and network with other people in the ICT industry.
      Mentoring - events and strategies to help women reach their potential and influence the direction of the ICT industry.
      Skills development workshops - practical workshops to increase women's career opportunities.

There are many women's ICT networks throughout Australia that provide personal and professional networking, knowledge, skills and career development, education forums and events, mentoring and scholarship programs and connection with other women in ICT.
